Explore the less-known gems in the UAE
Shees Park, Sharjah
Shees Park is situated on Khorfakkan Road, about an hour's drive from Sharjah. This park is uniquely nestled between tall mountain ranges, offering stunning natural views. Opened in 2020, the park features a variety of palm trees, native plants, game areas, and shaded seating for family picnics and barbecues. It also boasts an outdoor theatre that seats 70 people. Visitors to Shees valley can enjoy a scenic walking route, a hiking trail, an old village, local farms with native crops, and beautiful palm trees, making it an ideal spot for photography, relaxation, and recreation with friends and family.
Nestled within the peaks of the Hajar mountains, Wadi Shees enjoys its own microclimate, resulting in cooler temperatures year-round. Even when Dubai temperatures soar past 40 or 50 degrees Celsius, Wadi Shees remains comfortably below 32 degrees. This makes it an ideal destination regardless of the season, offering mild temperatures and lush surroundings. However, it's important to avoid visiting during rain, as wadis are highly susceptible to flash floods, posing a risk to visitors. While rain is rare in the UAE, it's wise to reconsider your plans if rain is forecasted on the day of your visit.
