Five-Day Eid Al Adha Break in the UAE: Flight Deals to Europe Starting from AED 980/-.
Residents of the UAE can look forward to a five-day break for Eid Al Adha, presenting an ideal opportunity for travel. Exciting flight deals to Europe are available starting from just Dh980, making it an excellent time to plan a holiday. With such affordable options, travellers can explore various European destinations, taking advantage of the extended break to experience new cultures, sights, and adventures. Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway or an extended trip, these flight deals offer a great chance to make the most of the festive holiday.
According to astronomical calculations, the holiday is expected to run from Sunday, June 16, to Wednesday, June 19. Including the weekend on Saturday, June 15, this provides a five-day break to celebrate the festival. These dates depend on the moon sighting, which determines the start and end of months in the Islamic Hijri calendar. Additionally, just a week later, schools will close for two months for summer vacations.
According to data from Skyscanner, June 14 is the most popular departure date for UAE residents, one day before the Eid break begins. “More than half of UAE travellers are searching for trips of up to one week or less, while 33 per cent are looking for trips lasting 1-2 weeks, and about 14 per cent are planning holidays for up to a month,” the travel company reported.

In addition to the standard 30-day annual leave policies provided by most companies in the UAE, residents can expect to enjoy at least 13 days off as public holidays this year. Residents previously shared with Khaleej Times how they are able to take three vacations annually as a result of this. Typically, expatriates utilize their annual leaves for trips to their home countries, while public holidays are often reserved for vacations or staycations.
This year, four out of the seven official holidays will result in extended weekends for UAE residents. Following the extended weekends for the New Year 2024 and the Islamic festival Eid Al Fitr, the country will observe holidays for Eid Al Adha (June), Islamic New Year (July), Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday (September), and UAE National Day (December).
